This season of gratitude, The Forum invites members to support our 2024–2026 Forum Ally, Why Not Prosper, as they host their Thanksgiving Resource Fair for women at the Philadelphia Industrial Correctional Center (PICC). You can make a meaningful impact by purchasing supplies directly from Why Not Prosper’s Amazon Wishlist, helping to provide essential items and reminders of care and dignity to women preparing for reentry.

Experiencing the Barriers to Reentry

In September, Forum members participated in a powerful Reentry Simulation Program at Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site alongside our Forum Ally, Why Not Prosper.

This immersive experience placed participants in the shoes of women returning home after incarceration—navigating the challenges of securing housing and employment, rebuilding relationships, and accessing essential services. The exercise illuminated the immense resilience and determination required for successful reentry and deepened our collective understanding of what true community support looks like.

Since 2001, Why Not Prosper has provided women with critical reentry resources, residential services, and empowerment programming through their Philadelphia-based Resource Center. Through The Forum Ally program, we align with mission-driven nonprofits like Why Not Prosper to expand the influence and impact of women—both in the workplace and across our communities.

We extend our sincere thanks to Why Not Prosper and Eastern State Penitentiary Historic Site for creating this transformative experience that continues to inform how we approach conversations around criminal justice reform and reintegration.
